Sometimes life can be overwhelming. Asking for help can be the first step to making positive changes. My practice is devoted to helping individuals, couples, and families with problems such as anxiety, depression, marital conflict, parenting challenges, grief, and addiction. I enjoy working with pre-marital couples to strengthen their relationship and build good communication skills and conflict resolution. I especially love working with college age young adults as they define their goals and identity, which can be an overwhelming task. In a warm, supportive atmosphere I will work with you to explore change and personal growth that can move you in the direction you would like to go.
I hold a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca and am a registered nurse with a BSN from University of Alabama in Birmingham. Through my work at a university counseling center, I gained experience with a diverse population of college students and enjoy working with older adolescents to adults. As a PREPARE/ENRICH facilitator utilizing an online assessment, couples can be helped to improve their relationship by exploring their strength and growth areas. I have been trained in QPR and ASIST suicide prevention.
